- The scheme is open to home and international applicants.
- Applicants are not required to have previously held an ESRC-funded studentship in order to be eligible to apply.
- The scheme welcomes proposals from those returning to research following a career break. Applicants are still required to meet the eligibility criterion of having no more than 12 months of active postdoctoral experience.
- Fellowships must be based in a department at Anglia Ruskin University or one of the participating DTP departments in the University of Cambridge.
- There are no residential restrictions beyond the grant holder being resident in the UK for the period of the fellowship award.
- The call is not open to applicants who are established, permanent members of staff in an academic position with a research component.
To be eligible to apply, applicants must:
- Have been awarded their PhD or passed their viva voce with minor amendments by 16 May 2024;
- Have no more than 12 months of active postdoctoral experience. This is measured from the applicant’s viva voce pass date to the application deadline of 16 May 2024;
- Have completed their PhD at a UK research organisation.
