Internships and Innovation Placements

The Cambridge Social Science Partnership invites applications to its Michaelmas 2019 PhD internship scheme.

Opportunities have been selected to support teams based across a range of sectors to carry out a number of projects and activities, whilst also providing unique professional development opportunities for PhD researchers. It is not necessary for the project to relate directly to the student’s PhD topic or specific research interests. Rather, we see these placements as a means to develop and apply transferrable research, communications and analytical skills outside the university sector. 

All opportunities are open to the Cambridge ESRC DTP and the wider social sciences PhD and post docs in Cambridge, including PhD students that just submitted their thesis.

Research Associates to work on a portfolio of internationally relevant projects such as: 

  • Improving access to identification among women and girls in Sub-Saharan Africa 

  • Exploring digital media landscapes in repressive Middle Eastern states 

  • Mapping the impact of a youth digital platform in Indonesia 

  • Providing behavioural insights for the campaign on tackling stigma and discrimination against LGBTQI groups in Southern Africa among other projects
