ESRC DTC Academic Poster Competition 2017

Cambridge ESRC DTC ‘Posters, Photos and (moving) Pictures’ Exhibition

The Cambridge ESRC DTC held its annual Academic Poster Competition on 8 May 2017, as part of its ‘Posters, Photos and (moving) Pictures’ Exhibition.  The exhibition illustrated the breadth of social sciences research at the University, showcasing not only the poster entries but also a range of fieldwork photographs from the Division of Social Anthropology and public engagement films created by students

All social sciences PhD students were invited to submit a poster for the competition and 8 entries were received, all of which were worthy of an award.

The Judges, Professor Loraine Gelsthorpe (Director of the Cambridge ESRC DTC) and Dr Robert Doubleday (Executive Director of the Centre for Science and Policy) were extremely impressed with the range and quality of the posters.  Although it was very difficult to judge, joint first place was awarded to the two entries which most successfully balanced striking visuals with a clear narrative.

The judges hope that future poster competitions will continue to attract high-quality submissions and again offer their congratulations to all the entrants.
